An Android application from Meridian Shipping Services

Paisa Book

A money book for your phone. It keeps your own accounts, and it keeps other people's money straight too — a club, a committee, a chitty, money lent to a friend. Everything stays on the phone.

Android 8.0 and above No account required 90 days free, then subscription

Why it exists

Most finance apps want your bank login. This one cannot ask for it.

Paisa Book declares no internet permission, so it has no way to transmit anything. There is no account, no sign-in and no server. That is not a setting you have to find and switch on; it is what the application is.

The trade is deliberate. You do not get automatic bank sync. You do get a book that cannot leak, cannot be mined, and keeps working when the signal does not — which matters more than it sounds if you spend months at sea.

What it does

Reads your statements

Bank and Google Pay statements, PDF or CSV. Every reading is checked against the running balance, and nothing saves if the two disagree.

Treasurer's books

A club, a residents' association, a chitty, a festival collection. Members, dues, arrears, funds kept apart, and a statement to read out at the meeting.

Kuries, counted honestly

A kuri is savings until your number comes up and a debt afterwards. This is the only place that will tell you what calling it early actually cost.

Credit cards

What each card really costs in interest and fees, and what paying only the minimum would come to. A card speaks up only when something is wrong.

Warranties

What is still under cover, with the receipt attached — photographed or as a PDF, and retrievable under a sensible filename when you need to claim.

Lending and borrowing

Who owes what, agreed returns, and the months that were missed — including arrangements with no end date, which can never be "overdue" and still run years behind.

Made for seafarers, too

Voyages, days in India counted against the 182-day line, and NRE and NRO accounts kept apart. Written by a Master Mariner who needed it.

Ninety days, then a subscription

A fresh installation runs for ninety days with everything switched on and no card asked for. Nothing expires in the sense of disappearing: when the ninety days are up the app still opens, every figure is still there, and it can still be backed up and exported. The premium parts then ask for a subscription, and come back the moment one is active.

The subscription is handled by Google Play. It is a running cost to us as well as to you, so it buys continued work on the application rather than a one-off sale and silence afterwards.

Free, with no end date

Your own accounts and entries, money lent and borrowed, the seafarer's voyage and day-count tools, and backup and export. A working money book that keeps working.

With a subscription

Reading bank and Google Pay statements, treasurer's books and kuries, and the credit card and warranty work — the parts that take the most keeping up with.

Anything already recorded stays yours whether you subscribe or not. A statement read during the trial does not vanish afterwards: those entries remain, and remain editable. The subscription buys reading the next one.

Paisa Book is not yet on Google Play. This page describes the application as it stands; it will be updated when the listing is live.

Privacy

The full policy is on its own page. The short version: no account, no network, no analytics, no third parties, and no copy of your records anywhere but your own phone.
